The StoryCharles Dickens' classic novel comes to life in this epic musical adaptation, set against the gritty backdrop of the French Revolution. When young Lucie Manette is asked to testify against a suspected French spy, she finds herself caught in an unlikely love triangle with two remarkably different men: Charles Darnay, a patriot who vehemently renounces his aristocratic heritage, and Sydney Carton, a cynical legal counselor with no greater ambition than to spend his life in the tavern.
As fate would have it, Darnay becomes the target of the bloody revolutionaries, under the cold unwavering eye of vengeance-obsessed Therese Defarge. Now Carton must confront the most difficult choice of his life: Watch his rival die an unjust death, or pay the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of one he loves. Full of sweeping choral numbers and poignant themes, A Tale of Two Cities: The Musical reminds us again what Dickens' timeless book so eloquently proved, that no man is beyond redemption. This is a Broadway-style musical. The running time is approximately 3 hours. To see more photos from past productions, visit the

"...a refreshingly tight production." Purcellville Gazette "...a theatrical masterstroke..." The Home School Court Report "...a great artistic success..." Dr. Gene Edward Veith "From start to finish, the level of work and love put into this production is obvious. The play is spectacular... The first vivid scene and the storming of the Bastille grab you by the scruff of the neck and refuse to let you go for some time. The last scene in particular... reduced even this crusty critic to a few tears." Patrick Henry Herald |
